Students will collect and analyze real data on height and arm span to explore relationships in scatterplots and discover how a line of best fit can model and predict real-world patterns.

 

Handspan vs Chocolate Grab Activity

Students will investigate the relationship between hand span and candy-grabbing ability by collecting real data, building a regression model, and interpreting slope, correlation, and predictions in a fun, hands-on context.

 

Unit 5 Project: Addition vs Multiplication Facts

Students collect class data on addition and multiplication fluency and use linear regression to analyze the relationship between the two skills. Using statistical software or graphing technology, students interpret standard computer output, including regression equations, correlation coefficients, residuals, and measures of model fit, to evaluate and explain the association between the variables.

 

Unit 5 Trivia Review Game

Students review key concepts from the unit by competing in a classic trivia game night–style review that reinforces understanding through collaborative problem solving and discussion.
