AP® Statistics Unit 2 – Exploring Two-Variable Statistics

Projects and Activities

Welcome! There are 7 activities/projects in this resource. All of the resources are 100% editable, to modify to fit your classroom needs. The zip folder includes the Word (or PowerPoint) document. The PDF versions are included for your convenience and answer keys and rubrics are included where appropriate.

Here is a brief description of what is included:

• Addition vs Multiplication Facts Project – Students gather data in class for how many addition and multiplication facts they can get correct in one minute. Data is compared using the techniques from Unit 2.

• Unit 2 Trivia Review Game – Students review problems from Unit 2 in a classic "Trivia Night" game. Fun questions mixed in for a great time in your class!
  

• Unit 2 Circuit Review – Students practice common AP problems using a circuit style activity.

• Hand Span vs Chocolate Grab – Students explore the linear relationship between their hand span length and how many M&Ms they can pick up. 

• Are We Compatible Activity – Students rate their personal preference for movies and "day off activities" and then graph their rankings with those of their classmates to see if they are "compatible".

• COVID Vaccinations Project – Students will explore data values around two COVID vaccination claims with a linear regression analysis. The goal is to get students working with larger sets of two variable data, and also to recognize when they could potentially use a linear regression analysis in everyday life.

• Vitruvian Man Activity (Part 1 and 2) – Students gather class data on height, armspan, and handspan, and then develop the meaning of LSRL and the formulas for the LSRL. I have this as a FREE activity here!
